THE RIVIERA COUNTRY CLUB CONTINUES
TO SUPPORT PACIFIC PALISADES FIRE RECOVERY EFFORTS
PACIFIC PALISADES, CA –The Riviera Country Club’s ownership and its membership continue to support the aid in recovery efforts to the Pacific Palisades area affected by the recent fires.
The Riviera Country Club recently staged a benefit golf tournament, “Stronger Together Golf Tournament” for first responders on August 4th.
Twenty-five groups played in the tournament including first responders from the Los Angeles Fire and Los Angeles Police Departments. Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell and acting Los Angeles Fire Chief Ronnie Villanueva joined The Riviera Country Club CEO Megan Watanabe in welcoming the participants at the club.
The tournament raised more than $88,000, which will fund relief efforts through the Los Angeles Police Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
The Riviera Country Club CEO Megan Watanabe also announced that this tournament will be an annual event at the club to support the community.
The Riviera Country Club, Chairman Noboru Watanabe and Megan Watanabe announced in mid-February a donation of $1 million to local rebuilding initiatives, partnering with the California Community Foundation to benefit the Pacific Palisades Community Council as well as the CD11 Foundation to restore public spaces and help the community heal.
“We look forward to making the “Stronger Together Golf Tournament” an annual event every August and we are anxiously getting ready for a very exciting 2026, when we celebrate our 100th anniversary of The Riviera Country Club,” said Megan Watanabe. “The Genesis Invitational will return to the club early in the year and we are hosting the U.S. Women’s Open in June. “We are also excited to host the Olympic Golf competition in 2028 and the U.S. Open in 2031.”
