Chargers roll into Vegas

The Los Angeles Chargers face their second AFC West opponent in as many weeks, heading to Las Vegas to play the Raiders on Monday Night Football. Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium is on Mon., Sept. 15 at 7:00 p.m. PT. Chris Fowler, Louis Riddick, Dan Orlovsky, Katie George and Peter Schrager have the call on ESPN, while Matt“Money” Smith, Daniel Jeremiah and Shannon Farren will broadcast on the Chargers Radio Network airwaves on ALT FM-98.7 as well as on SiriusXM 85 or 228 and on the SiriusXM app. Adrian Garcia-Marquez and Francisco Pinto will present the game in Spanish on Que Buena Los Angeles.
The Chargers have won 13 of the past 21 games against the Raiders on the road, including the 2024 season finale, 34-20. The game saw wide receiver Quentin Johnston set career highs in catches (13) and receiving yards (186), while quarterback Justin Herbert threw for 346 yards and two touchdowns.
The Chargers enter the game 1-0 after defeating Kansas City, 27-21, in São Paulo, Brazil.
Herbert threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns, recording a 131.7 passer rating, connecting with eight different receivers, four of which topped 50 yards. Johnston hauled in a career-best two touchdowns, bringing his total to 10 since the start of the 2024 season.
Defensively, linebacker Daiyan Henley had eight tackles and a sack.
Las Vegas is led on offense by quarterback Geno Smith, who threw for 362 yards in
Week 1, connecting with second-year tight end Brock Bowers five times for 103 yards, who continued after his stellar rookie season. Rookie running back Ashton Jeanty found the end zone for his first NFL touchdown in the Raiders’ 20-13 win over New England.
The Bolts again face an AFC West opponent in Week 3, the third consecutive division opponent to open the season, hosting the Denver Broncos. Kickoff from SoFi Stadium on Sun., Sept. 21 is slated for 1:05 p.m. PT.
