Chargers to present CIF-SS girls FF luncheon

LOS ALAMITOS — Susie Spanos, wife of Los Angeles Chargers Owner and Chairman of the Board Dean Spanos, will deliver the keynote address at the third annual CIF Southern Section-Ford Girls Flag Football Press Conference and Luncheon, presented by the Los Angeles Chargers.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 4, at The Grand in Long Beach, beginning at 11 a.m.

Spanos is a long-time philanthropist and community leader dedicated to supporting youth, education, health and the arts throughout Southern California. She also serves on the board of the NFL Foundation, the league’s nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives through football and community initiatives.

For more than a decade, the Chargers and the Spanos family have played a leading role in growing girls flag football throughout Southern California. Long before the sport became CIF-sanctioned in California, the organization invested in expanding access for young female athletes through youth camps and clinics, school-based programming, equipment grants and a pilot high school league that helped lay the groundwork for the sport’s eventual sanctioning. Throughout the sanctioning process, the Chargers worked alongside state and local partners to help support the successful implementation and long-term growth of the sport.
