Debbie King Granted Call & Post Ownership

Deborah King, 65, the only biological daughter of famed boxing promoter Don King has been granted ownership of the 106-year old Call & Post Newspaper in Cleveland, Ohio effective immediately.

Don King, 95, rescued the Call & Post from bankruptcy when he purchased the publication in 1998 and has been its owner since, but has transferred ownership of the storied community newspaper to his daughter.

The Call & Post is a community institution in Northeast, Ohio and Debbie as she is affectionally called will now be its caretaker following in the legacy of its founding members inventor Garrett A. Morgan and William Otis “W.O” Walker who established the publication in around 1928.

Born in Cleveland, Debbie is a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a degree in Criminal Justice and also earner of a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Doctorate, and is also CEO and founder of Limitless Life Recovery and the It Takes a Life to Save a Life Foundation in addition to being as licensed boxing promoter.

“I believe the time is right for my daughter continue the legacy of the Call & Post, keeping it in our family while continuing to chronicle the history that matters most to Ohioans. After all it was her mother Henrietta and I who decided to save it,” Don King, said in a statement.

Debbie stated: “This is an enormous responsibility. To all of the natives of Ohio, many of them my friends or friends of my family for decades they know they can trust me. It will not be easy, but nothing worth having is easy but you can trust the Call & Post is going to evolve with the times, slowly but surely.”
