From Match Day to Fan Zones: Los Angeles Celebrates the World Cup




The FIFA World Cup 2026™ celebrations in Los Angeles continued successfully into the second week of the tournament, highlighted by the three anticipated group stage matchups at Los Angeles Stadium and the start of the official Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zones. Kicking off a week of exciting FIFA World Cup 2026™ action, Iran and New Zealand battled to a 2-2 draw on June 15. Switzerland followed with an impressive 4-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 18, before Iran returned to the pitch on June 21 to face Belgium in a highly anticipated Group G showdown, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
Beyond the stadium, thousands of fans gathered across the region to celebrate at the first official Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zones. The inaugural Fan Zone at The Original Farmers Market welcomed fans June 18–21, followed by the City of Downey on June 20. Together, these events expanded the World Cup experience across the region, bringing fans together through live match viewing, entertainment, food, and cultural programming.

Program highlights include a special appearance by Mexican football legend Ramón Ramírez, performances by Valentino Khan and DJ Quik, and LA Smorgusburg’s food truck lineup with fan favorites. JUNE 27:FAN ZONE – Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone at The Heart of the City: Union Station featuring live match viewing for the following matches: Croatia vs. Ghana, Panama vs. England, Colombia vs. Portugal, Congo vs. Uzbekistan, Algeria vs. Austria and Japan vs. Argentina. Program highlights include a special appearance by Mexican football legend Claudio Suárez and the official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Mascots, as well as a performance by Travis Barker and DJ Spider.
