As the European soccer leagues start to wind down their current seasons, the clubs are making plans for the annual trek to the United States for preseason camp and games.
This summer, Southern California soccer fans will get at least three chances to watch their favorite clubs from Europe as the Soccer Champions Tour schedule was released Friday.
The tour consists of eight games from July 22-Aug. 2, with stops in Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando and San Francisco.
The first area stop is July 23 as Real Madrid faces AC Milan at the Rose Bowl.
Three days later, SoFi Stadium is the location as Arsenal faces Barcelona, and one day later, on July 27, AC Milan and Juventus will meet at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson.
The schedule also includes an El Clasico between rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid, set for AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The 2023 Soccer Champions Tour is being produced in partnership with AEG.
“AEG is excited about the partnership with Soccer Champions Tour and Legends to bring the most successful soccer clubs in the world to fans across the U.S.,” Tom Braun, AEG’s Senior Vice President, Soccer & Business Operations and Business Development, said in a statement. “Every matchup in this series is of the highest caliber and we’re thrilled that American soccer fans will have the opportunity to see these epic games featuring legendary teams live and in person.”
Several of the teams involved in Friday’s announcement have already announced additional matches in the U.S. this summer, including Manchester United taking on Wrexham AFC on July 25 in San Diego and Arsenal facing off with an MLS All-Star squad on July 19 in Washington, D.C.
