Isn’t just so wonderful that finally we get a World Series that pierces through the vaunted NFL monopoly and the meaningless beginning to the elongated NBA season.
AARON JUDGE
Yes! For once we get a Major League Baseball championship with not only two best teams but the two most recognizable brands in all of professional sports.
The Yankees and Dodgers collide at Dodgers Stadium on Oct. 25 in a World Series match-up that has been 43 years in the making.
Two franchises that have not met in the Fall Classic since 1981 and two who will be meeting for all of the hot dogs and beers you could imagine for the 12th time.
Aaron Judge, the American League home run champion with 58 dingers and the Japanese phenom Shoei Ohtani who set a Dodgers club record with 54 round tripper to top the National League..
Mookie Betts versus Juan Soto, the Yankees elite front line pitcher Garrett Cole and that dominant bull pen against a Dodgers starting cast that has been shattered by injuries.
The much maligned manager Dave Roberts, who without question has done his best managing job since he’s been at the helm against the equally criticized Aaron Boone who should be manager of the year in the American League.
SHOEI OHTANI
The Dodgers survived their league rivals San Diego Padres in the Division Series in 5 grueling games and they dispatched the Mets in 6 games in a series where neither team lost by fewer than four runs.
The Yankee went through upstart Kansas City in the divisional round in four games and then outlasted the Cleveland Guardians in 5 heartstopping contests.
I’m a Los Angeles native born and bred, grew up rooting for the Blue crew but have since been a Yankees die hard and will be rooting for pinstripes in this one.
East Coast versus West West Coast, Biggie versus Tupac, Spike Lee versus all of Hollywood and Magic Johnson.
Don’t have any illusions about buying a ticket to this series unless you can splurge $2,500 for the bleacher seats, but you can plan your own watch party because it’s not a championship event you want to miss.
The hell with small markets and cinderellas, this is David versus Goliah.
The two biggest markets in the country.
Kamala Harris versus Donald Trump!
Nothing is bigger…
