Southern Colorado mother begs community to find her son

Date:

LA JUNTA, Colo. (KKTV) – Monday marks five days since 19-year-old, Devlin Cambeul, was last seen near the Arkansas River in North La Junta. On Monday, his mother, Laura Homan, talked with 11 News over the phone and says she hasn’t given up hope that Devlin is out there somewhere.

The search for Cambeul has been called off by officials, but Homan says she just wants to bring her son home and is begging the community to not give up looking for him. She’s asking everyone to go check their fields, barns, prairies and back country to find her son and use drones if necessary.

She asks that if anyone finds anything that they call police. Homan tells 11 News she believes her son didn’t just disappear and that he would’ve come home if something didn’t happen to him. She says she appreciates the help from the community.

Homan also says they mostly just need help just looking for Cambeul but if you would like to donate to his GoFundMe page, click the link here.

11 News did speak to officials, the last update we have is that they stopped searching of Friday because of weather, but officials have not said whether they have plans to pick it back up.

Cambeul’s mother says Devlin has three sisters, one brother and an 81-year-old grandmother who’s not taking it well.

Homan says Devlin is the sweetest, most loving person in the world. He is funny, always in a good mood and just contagious. Everybody wanted to be around him and he had so many friends, so many people care about him. She also says he worked hard to graduate high school and his 20th birthday is coming up next week on June 24th.
