Lawndale Community Wellness and Activity Center Grand Opening
Congresswoman Maxine Waters participated in the Lawndale Community Wellness and Activity Center Grand Opening on August 14th at their new facility at 4161 Manhattan Beach Blvd., in Lawndale.
In collaboration with Providence Little Company of Mary, the Lawndale Community Wellness and Activity Center will offer vital community services including access to health insurance program, health education and other forms of engagement. The goal is to empower residents with resources and knowledge needed to lead healthier lives and ensure equitable access to essential support services.
The event was hosted by Justin Joe, Director of Community Health and featured a bevy of others including Kurt Hinrichsen, Chief Philanthropy officer, Virginia Castro, Superintendent Lawndale Elementary School District, Adim Morales, President, Lawndale Elementary School District Board of Trustees, Ara An, Deputy of Constituent Engagement and Michael Ricks, CEO, Southern California Service Area Los Angeles Coastal. The event was attended by donors, prospective donors, elected officials/staff, community members, ministry/divisional philanthropy leadership, board members and staff.
Congresswoman Waters thanked Superintendent Castro for inviting her to participate and said, “Little Company of Mary is a respected medical institution with a reputation for providing excellent care in the South Bay. I am very happy,” she added, “to hear of your partnership with Lawndale Elementary School District to create this wellness center to serve not only students but individuals in the surrounding communities.”
The event ended with closing remarks by Director Joe and the actual ribbon cutting.
