Meet Eugene Parker of 5120 Entertainment

Date:

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eugene Parker.

Eugene, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a product of South Central Los Angeles who grew up with dreams, goals, and aspirations to do what I love while making a positive impact in my community. Through resilience and personal fortitude, I have worked to reach the position that I am in today.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t think that any road is a smooth road. Everyone endures some form of challenges along the way, and I am no different in that regard. I can say that I have exceptional people in my life such as my father, mother, and my brother Alex Parker, whom have continuously invested in and supported me. The struggle itself is also the inspiration to succeed, it is the fuel that drives me to become the best that I can be.

As you know, we’re big fans of 5120 Entertainment. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am the Chief Executive Officer of 5120 Entertainment, a production company that is invested in television, film, and live events. In just a brief period, we have done some wonderful things in this space. As such we are currently producing a film ‘Back on the Strip’ (featuring Wesley Snipes, Bill Bellamy, Faizon Love, and Tiffany Haddish) that will be available in theaters this fall. Also, we recently completed production on the television series NA’IM (featuring Na’im Lynn, Kevin Hart, and KevOnStage); additionally, we sponsored the Fall Back in Love Comedy and Music Jam tour (performers such as Monica, Trey Songz, Mario, RIP Micheals, and Lil Duval).

I have a specialized ability to see and orchestrate deals quickly. I have to evaluate the talent of people that I hire to execute company goals while also having the ability to recognize whether they are doing what is best for the company’s current projects, future outlook and bottom line.

I am probably best known for uplifting people and reaching out to help those who are less fortunate. I am committed to excellence in life and business.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I think first and foremost, God deserves all the credit, as well as my mother and father for their guidance and direction. My dad is probably my biggest advocate and my uncle, his brother. I am fortunate to have a very talented and dedicated team at 5120, so they certainly deserve a lot of credit as well. As for mentors, there are some very close confidantes that I have been able to rely on throughout my life’s journey.
