LOS ANGELES RAMS CELEBRATE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH SIXTH ANNUAL COMMUNITY BLITZ DAYS OF SERVICE

Rams Work Alongside Community Partners to Host Holiday Shopping Spree, Food Distribution and Meal Service

The Los Angeles Rams are teaming up with community partners to host a holiday shopping spree for 100 youth as well as a food distribution and meal service for Los Angeles residents battling food insecurity as a as part of the team’s sixth annual Community Blitz.
Since 2018, Rams players, cheerleaders, mascot Rampage, and front office staff have participated in annual Community Blitz days of service that have helped distribute holiday meals and gift cards to more than 10,000 Southern California residents battling food insecurity, host shopping sprees for hundreds of children served by local nonprofits and hospitals, as well as host a holiday party and gift distribution for children with incarcerated family members.
Below is an overview of each initiative taking place on Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 14. (Note: Player appearances are subject to change.)

Holiday Shopping Spree for 100 Local Youth with The Salvation Army and Nickelodeon

In partnership with Nickelodeon, the Rams will host a shopping spree at Walmart for 100 youth (ages 5-14) served by The Salvation Army. Rams players, Rams Cheerleaders and staff members will be paired with a child and take them shopping to purchase up to $200 in holiday gifts, courtesy of the Rams. Following the shopping spree, the Rams volunteers will serve meals to the participating youth. Additionally, the children will have the opportunity to join in Nickelodeon’s Let’s Draw! activity and costume characters SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star will be in attendance.

The Salvation Army operates more than 50 social service agencies strategically placed throughout Southern California, offering practical help for people without discrimination and standing up for those who are vulnerable. TSA runs thrift stores and boutiques where the proceeds support our Adult Rehabilitation Centers, operates shelters for the homeless, provides disaster relief and humanitarian aid around the world.

Walk-Up Food Distribution with Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions and Pepsi

In partnership with Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions and Pepsi, the Rams and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank will host a large-scale, walk-up food distribution at Ted Watkins Memorial Park. Holiday meals and nutritious food will be displayed on tables and more than 700 Angelenos in need will have the opportunity to select the items that they would like to take home.

During the event, Rams tight end TYLER HIGBEE, Rams Cheerleaders, Rampage, front office staff members, LA Regional Food Bank, Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions and Pepsi volunteers will greet visitors and help replenish the food tables.

Wednesday’s initiative will be the second food distribution Higbee, Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions and Pepsi have led in recent months to tackle food insecurity in under-resourced communities throughout Southern California. The series of efforts has benefitted three Feeding America® network food banks in Los Angeles County, Orange County and Ventura County.

Last year’s Community Blitz food distribution with LA Regional Food Bank (LARFB) at SoFi Stadium served more than 900 families from the Greater Los Angeles area. LARFB’s mission is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community. They distribute food and other essentials to children, seniors, families and other individuals in need. Community support enables the Food Bank to serve more than 800,000 people every month.

Holiday Party and Grocery Distribution at St. Joseph Center

Rams players, Ram Cheerleaders and staff members will serve a holiday meal to more than 300 St. Joseph Center clients. Additionally, the Rams volunteers will distribute groceries and gift cards to each St. Joseph Center attendee.

During the Rams’ Community Blitz in 2021, the team partnered with Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions and Pepsi to host a holiday grocery distribution for 250 St. Joseph Center clients. In 2020, the team partnered with St. Joseph Center to delivery holiday meals and gift cards to Angelenos in need of support.

St. Joseph Center provides working poor families, as well as homeless men, women, and children of all ages, with inner resources and tools to become productive, stable, and self-supporting members of their community.
