Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a pedestrian severely injured and are urging the public to report any information that may lead to the identification of the driver involved in this incident.
On May 9, 2025, around 10:35 p.m., a pedestrian walking westbound in a crosswalk on Crenshaw Boulevard, just north of the 10 Freeway westbound on-ramp, was struck by a pickup truck traveling southbound on Crenshaw Boulevard. The driver failed to stop, identify themselves, or render aid as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the 23-year-old female pedestrian to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a traffic collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
The public is also reminded that pedestrians must obey all traffic laws and cross the street when it is safe to do so.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
