Visit your DPSS district office or contact the Customer Service Center at 1-866-613-3777 to ask an Eligibility Worker if you qualify.CELEBRATING THE ARTS DURING BLACK HISTORY MONTHBlack History Month is an annual celebration of African American achievements and their central role in U.S. history. Since 1976, every U.S. president has designated February as Black History Month and endorsed a specific theme. This year’s theme is “African Americans and the Arts,” highlighting African Americans’ impactful contributions to visual arts, cultural movements, music, and more. For a list of events in L.A. County residents to spread the word about heart disease, the leading cause of death among women in the U.S.  National Wear Red Day activities are scheduled to take place nationwide on Friday, February 2. Wear red to raise awareness for women’s heart health. Learn more at Go Red for Women Wear Red and Give.CLAIM YOUR CASH DURING EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT AWARENESS WEEKCalifornia Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) Awareness Week runs through Friday, February 2. CalEITC provides financial help to lift working families with children out of poverty. The Economic Security Project and the County of Los Angeles have partnered to introduced Claim Your Cash LA, a pilot program that simplifies the process for families to claim tax credits, including CalEITC and Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC). Learn more at Claim Your Cash Pilot to Connect Families to Tax Credits in Los Angeles County.ATTEND THE FREE BLACK HISTORY MONTH FESTIVAL AT PAN PACIFIC PARKThe 8th annual Los Angeles Black History Month Festival returns Sunday, February 18, at L.A.’s Pan Pacific Park from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This year’s festival will provide family-friendly activities, including a children’s area, health screenings, marketing booths, panel discussion, and a performance by RoJames. Join the Curtis Tucker Center for Community Wellness and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health in Inglewood for FREE food distributions every second Thursday of the month at 123 W.
