Isaac Rex

The Los Angeles Chargers today signed tight end Isaac Rex. In a corresponding move, the team waived defensive lineman Micheal Mason.

Rex originally signed earlier this offseason as an undrafted free agent out of Brigham Young with the Detroit Lions. Over five seasons (2019-23) in Provo, Utah, Rex started 38-of-52 career games, hauling in 112 passes for 1,385 yards (12.4 avg.) and 24 touchdowns. He tied for the most touchdown grabs in the nation in 2020, hauling in 12 scores for the Cougars that season. A graduate of San Clemente (Calif.) High, Rex helped lead the team to a CIF state championship as a senior. Rex will wear No. 46 for the Chargers.
